5 Reasons Why Pakistan Is The Worst Team In World Cup 2015

From indiscipline to public rants, here are 5 reasons why Pakistan is the worst team in the tournament:

1. Indiscipline

There is indiscipline in the ranks of the Pakistani team in the form of the team manager Moin Khan going out to a Casino and senior players misbehaving with the fielding coach. Reportedly, three Pakistani senior players (Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal) exchanged heated words with fielding coach. All this damages the dressing room atmosphere, which is integral for a team to succeed in a long tournament.

2. Lacklusture Leadership

There is a strong leadership issue in the team as the captain has not been able to motivate the team from its disappointing outings. During the press conferences the captain can be seen not having an answer to the lackadaisical performances of his players and can instead seen to be defending them.

3. Senior Players

The senior players in the team have not been able to put their hands up and show the way. The poor performances of senior pros like Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi are only testimony to this fact. Younis Khan is now facing the brunt of the fans for being picked only on the basis of “experience”. Younis has been a subject of severe criticism from former Pakistan players after scores of six and nought in Pakistan’s defeats in their first two matches of the World Cup. Unlike the other teams like South Africa, India, New Zeland etc, where the seniors have led the way, Pakistan’s senior pros have been more of an embarrassment.

4. Fielding

Pakistanis have the worst fielding record in this edition of the tournament. No other team has dropped as many catches and have miss fielded as the men in green. Without solid fielding performances it is next to impossible to go a long way in the tournament.

5. Public Rants

To succeed in a tournament it is very important to have support from all quarters; fans, former players etc. The Pakistan team seems to have none of it as there have been reports of fans vandalizing property back home and former players like Shoaib Akhtar ranting publicly on national television against the current players who were also his team mates.
